The episode wraps up with an intriguing promise of future adventures. The kids, now imprisoned by pirates, encounter a mysterious Force user in their dire predicament. Wim is absolutely starstruck, convinced he’s come across a legendary Jedi, much like the ones he’s read about.

But here’s an interesting theory: it seems likely that Jude Law’s scoundrel character is the very Pirate Captain introduced in the opening scene of the first episode. Remember, he was betrayed and imprisoned by his own crew after a botched heist. This raises an intriguing question—why didn’t he escape earlier? With the Force at his disposal, he could easily have retrieved the keys and freed himself. Instead, he chose to wait until he had companions in the cell to make his move.

Could it be that he lacked a ship of his own and realized that escaping alone would make acquiring one nearly impossible? Or was there a larger strategy at play? It’s a mystery that promises to unravel as the story progresses.

On another note, Skeleton Crew continues the trend of brief runtimes, with the second episode clocking in at less than 30 minutes. While the pacing keeps the plot tight, it can be frustrating when episodes end just as the tension peaks. Personally, episodes one and two would’ve worked better as a single, hour-long installment to deliver a more satisfying narrative arc.

For now, though, we’re left eagerly anticipating what’s next for the kids, the Pirate Captain, and the Force user.
